From initial site visit to final inspection, here's what happens when we install a precast concrete fence at your property - typical timelines, access requirements, and what we need from you.
One of the most common questions we get is 'what actually happens during installation?' Here's a step-by-step walkthrough of a typical concrete fence install.
Step 1: Site assessment
Before quoting, we visit your property to measure the boundary, check access, identify any services (gas, water, stormwater) along the fence line, and discuss your preferences. This usually takes 30-60 minutes.
Step 2: Quote and scheduling
We provide a detailed written quote within 24-48 hours. Once approved, we schedule installation - typically 2-4 weeks out depending on the time of year.
Step 3: Pier footings (Day 1)
We dig pier holes at each post location using a compact auger. Piers are typically 600-900mm deep depending on soil conditions. Steel reinforcement is placed and concrete is poured. Footings cure overnight.
Step 4: Panel installation (Day 2)
Precast panels are delivered on our crane truck and slotted into the post channels. A typical 30-metre fence is fully installed in one day. Clean-up follows immediately.
Step 5: Final inspection
We walk the fence with you, confirm everything meets your expectations, and answer any questions. Your warranty starts from this date.
What we need from you
- Clear access to the fence line (we'll discuss this during the site visit)
- Removal of any existing fence (we can quote this as part of the job)
- Confirmation of boundary lines if unclear
- Awareness of any underground services
Typical timeline
- Quote to install: 2-4 weeks
- Install duration: 1-3 days depending on length
- Minimum disruption to your property
